Lucky Fella

GB went to his new home this evening. He is moving into a nice house in a neighborhood with other Greyhounds next door, a wonderful new "mom," a very sweet and polite little girl (human) and an adorable fawn female (Greyhound). He is one lucky fella. He will have 3 lovely ladies in his life. What more could a guy ask for?

I know GB will thoroughly enjoy the next chapter of his life. I'm glad I could be there with my pack to help him get ready for it.

And don't you know, I forgot to get a final photo with his new family!

Hugs and kisses to my sweet GB - big Goofy Boy! I wish him the very best!

Big Goofy, Sweet Boy

M's Glaze Base or GB as I've started calling him came home into foster with me last night. He's such a big, sweet goofball.

He did great riding in my truck going home once I got him loaded in. He laid down and relaxed. Every so often he would stand up to see where we were and what was going on. Then he would lay back down and chill.

He did great meeting his foster siblings: 3 Greyhounds, 1 smallish lab mix, my cat and parrot. He pretty much ignored the cat and parrot until today. Now he's noticing them more, but nothing I am overly worried about. The parrot is confined to his cage when there's a foster in residence and my 17 year old cat is used to fosters cycling through. GB has started whining today when he sees the cat. I just tell him "no" and redirect him.

Last night after the initial potty break and the introduction to my dogs which I always do in my fenced backyard, we went inside and GB promptly marked the sofa which thank heavens had a cover on it. I told him no and took back outside for a few minutes. I've been watching him closely and so far, no further marking attempts. He just has to learn what what's acceptable in the house and what is not. He's a smart boy though so I am not concerned.

Poor thing, he had no choice but to start learning steps pretty quickly last night since my bedroom is upstairs and he had just arrived home with me last night. I learned from my very first foster Greyhound, they want to sleep in the same room with everyone else--even if it means having to tackle steps right off the bat. I set up the foster crate in the bedroom and he went right in. He did fuss and cry some last night, but not too badly.

He was very happy get up and to eat his breakfast this morning. GB is a big boy, but he's not overweight. He's just a sweet love bug. He wants to lean on you. He's a hugger and nuzzler too. He keeps coming over to see what I'm doing and at the same time wanting me to pet him.

I sat on the floor this morning near him to see what he thought about that. He came closer and started nuzzling and leaning. He's hanging out with me in my office today while I work.  I'm pretty surprised this adorable, sweet, loving boy has not been snatched up yet. Once word gets out about how adorable, sweet and loving he is, I have no doubt he'll be adopted in a flash!

Won't you take me home!

Puppy Love

This precious one year old is so well behaved and a little on the timid side. He warms up quickly and just loves having his ears rubbed. He is a long legged beauty with gorgeous markings all over. His tail curles up and is tipped in white, what a cutie. He's looking for someone to love and cuddle with and someone is going to fall hard for this gentle, sweet boy!
